Dear friends of Plandampf,

after a while, here we are again with some news.

Unfortunately our plans for 2011 did not materialize. We are now investigating the opportunities in 2012 and will report as soon as plans get substantial.

Fortunately, you do not need to do without Plandampf in autumn 2011. The first event is scheduled for the weekend September 24 and 25, organized and funded by "Westfalendampf", DB Regio NRW GmbH (Verkehrsbetrieb Westfaelische Regionallinien) and the Zweckverband Schienenpersonennahverkehr Muensterland. Steam locos 38 2267, 41 360 and 78 468, a 798/998 diesel railcar and a V100 diesel locomotive haul around 30 scheduled passenger trains on the lines Muenster - Coesfeld (Baumberge-Bahn) und cross-border Muenster – Gronau – Enschede / Netherlands (Euregio-Bahn). LoRi has announced another Werratal Plandampf at the end of October (Oct 27 to 29 2011) using two locos class 44, one 41 and a 50 (see www.plandampfteam.de/Termine). Wir recommend to support the event.

Some of you may be interested in the anniversary "150 years Ruhr-Sieg-Strecke" Hagen – Siegen at September 18 2011. This event does not offer "real" Plandampf but a series of specials to Siegen, three steam hauled shuttles Siegen – Hagen – Siegen over the grades at Welschen-Ennest and a loco exhibition at Siegen roundhouse. Locos 41 360, 50 3552 and 52 8134 are expected on the trains.
